My Experience Creating a Business Highlight Video w/ Brett of SPRUCE STUDIOS : From Nerves to Magic

I had quite a FULL day of doing things that had me stepping past my comfort zone - but I have to say - maybe it was in all the best ways.

In December, I won a video production package from Spruce Studios Holiday Giveaway where the community voted for their favorite small businesses in Chico and the top five businesses won a 5 hour video production package. I was one of those businesses - all because I asked my community to show up for me & vote... and they did. I was absolutely in awe ....and as excited as I was - I was equally terrified. Maybe there is something to the fact that I am heading into 8 years of business and have never invested in a video package for myself... <laughing face>

Yesterday, we produced an introduction to Bright Side Jewelry Co. video with the video portion being a look into my life as an artist - sitting on the porch making coffee - writing in my journal - putting a record on and getting to work in the studio.

Leaning on friends to help support me yesterday, wasn't easy to do - I'm typically a 'I've got it' gal and reaching out to say - HEY I COULD REALLY USE YOUR ENERGY AROUND WHEN I DO THIS THING BECAUSE I'M ACTUALLY SCARED. It felt SO good to have a friend SAY she'll show up and SHE DID. The best hype woman & has experience being on set and modeling? I couldn't have asked for any better support.

A co-worker from a former job of mine from a previous job came by ON HER LUNCH to model for me and wear my jewelry. To have my home filled with laughter was just the sweetest thing - creating with other creatives? AMAZING.

Brett from Spruce Studios is a master at his craft - setting up each scene with so much attention to detail. I was absolutely floored by the level of effort and care he put into every scene we recorded, and his ability to guide me through the interview portion of the video. I wanted the audio to feel less like a script and more off the cuff - more organic, if you will. His temperament is calm & collected and professional the whole time - which set MY nerves at ease. Brett was able to take the day as it came and worked within the tight restraints in terms of space to make it happen.

What an honor it was to experience the whole process - I cannot wait to share with you all the video that highlights my jewelry business when it is released...
