Note to Self : Easy Does It

As May begins - I find myself taking moments to S-L-O-W down.
April was filled with being on other peoples time lines while the studio and my bedroom had water damage tended to & mold treated - drywall replaced and the old carpets torn out and new ones put in. While I'm thankful it has been taken care of, it was A LOT of work to move nearly every item I own within 12 hours of "Hey, can we come put new carpets? yes, nothing on the floor please. We'll be there at 930 am." My body had a REALLY rough day on Friday and woke up at 4am on Saturday to go to market and my entire body just said "not today, Court." and so I listened. Opened the windows and went back to sleep. I spent all of Saturday cleaning, organizing and moving things back into the studio and my bedroom, with intention. It felt so good to "refresh" everything, Wipe the dust from everything. Decide if things needed to stick around or not.
While starting the month off with a zero for the first market in theory doesn't feel great, I know deep down that neither does showing up on empty & having zero energy to share about my jewelry and why I love what I do. I enjoy being able to connect with my community at the Farmers Market, it makes me feel alive and truly present. Let me just say, showing up and peopling wasn't going to happen for me on Saturday. :)
Choosing to take care of getting the house back in order, taking some time to take a few deep breaths and let my body rest... allows me to lean into all that May could hold. It is the type of energy I want to hold and the whole reason WHY I've built this life by owning my own businesses.
Ultimately, I'm my own boss, and I should listen to whatever I say. ;)
I hope that the month of May holds lots of hope, lots of fun & little moments of surprise for you too. The question really is... How can you make a little more room for each of those in your life this month?

P.s. I realized a day later that the title of this blog came from singing this song that GOLDFORD just put out called Easy Does It, over and over!
